The project aims to support the Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection (MENP) in the implementation of the EU acquis on Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) at regional and local levels.
The project “Strengthening Capacities for Strategic Environmental Assessment at Regional and Local Levels”, recently awarded to a consortium composed by EPTISA and the local company Dvokut Ecro, is funded by the European Union’s Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) with a budget of almost 1.1 Million Euro.
Thanks to this new contract, during the next 18 months a team of specialists from the consortium will conduct an evaluation of the Croatian legal framework on SEA, will undertake an analysis of the relevant institutional set-up, will carry out a training needs assessment, and will deliver an ad-hoc training programme for officers involved in SEA procedures at a regional and local level. Furthermore, the team will develop a set of guidelines and manuals for the correct implementation of SEA procedures.
EPTISA has been working in the Republic of Croatia since 2004 and has recently established a new subsidiary company in Zagreb – ‘EPTISA ADRIA d.o.o’. Up to date, the company has implemented nine projects, mainly in the fields of environmental management, socio-economic development, and infrastructure.
