The project, financed by the Western Balkans Investment Framework and coordinated by the European Investment Bank, will allow EPTISA to work in close association with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Albania for an efficient implementation of the National Transport Plan.
EPTISA has just been awarded with a new contract in the Republic of Albania, aiming to provide support to the Albanian Roads Authority (ARA) for the implementation of major road construction projects in the country. The assignment is financed by the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), with the IFI leadership role being taken by the European Investment Bank (EIB).
During the next 24 months a team of specialists of EPTISA will provide expert advice and assistance on project implementation and contract management related to roads investment and construction projects, will offer continued on the job training to ARA’s project managers tasked with project implementation, and will assist in the preparation of future road investment projects along the country.
In particular, EPTISA team will assist the ARA in implementing the following ongoing and planned investments in the national roads network:
- Fier-Tepelene Road: Rehabilitation and upgrading of 70 km of road on the north-south Albanian corridor. 70 million Euro have been provided by the EIB and EBRD.
- Levan-Vlore Road: Construction of a new 2 x 2 lane expressway with a total length of 24 km. 48 million Euro have been provided by the EIB and EBRD.
- Fier Bypass: 60 million Euro will be allocated by the Government of Albania.
- Tirana-Elbasan Road: Construction of a road with a total length of 30 km. The estimated cost of the project is around 350 million Euro.
- Tepelene and Gjirokaster Bypasses: The estimated cost of the project is around 45 million Euro.
