A multidisciplinary team of experts will give support to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations (MoFTER) and related institutions in developing its institutional capacity related to the successful implementation of the SAA, WTO, CEFTA, EFTA and further trade negotiations.
A Consortium composed by SOFRECO (leading company), EPTISA and Djikic Consulting Services has been awarded a 1.129.850,00 Euros contract in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the project titled: “Capacity building for trade policies and analysis”. This EU funded project is designed to improve B&H trade performance, the institutional and administrative capacities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to implement the activities related to the SAA and CEFTA commitments, WTO agreements and obligations. Indeed, a proper implementation of the different trade agreements will contribute to creating a market economy, which is one of the main preconditions for acceding to the EU.
The team of the experts will help to develop the institutional capacity of the MoFTER and related institutions for successful implementation of the SAA, WTO, CEFTA, EFTA and further trade negotiations.
During the next twenty months the team of experts will focus in strengthening and promoting the capacities of BiH institutions and especially MoFTER on different areas (legal, administrative, institutional) through a large scope of capacity building activities such as training sessions, team buildings and study visits. This enhancement of MoFTER capacities will enable B&H to improve its trade performance and its abilities to integrate the EU markets.
The key activities within the project are:
- Support to the implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
- Support the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in implementation of the WTO obligations.
- Support the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in implementing the CEFTA obligations.
- Support the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations and other relevant institutions on issues related to the customs and trade statistics.
- Public awareness activities.
The Contracting Authority is the European Union, represented by its Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, on behalf of and for the account of the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
