EPTISA SEE has just started a new project in Macedonia in the field of agriculture. “Small-scale, low-cost, environment friendly irrigation schemes: sites selection and preparation of full work tender dossier” is yet to be implemented

On Wednesday, 6^th of September 2017, Consortium led by EPTISA started the implementation of the new EU funded project “Small-scale, low-cost, environment friendly irrigation schemes: sites selection and preparation of full work tender dossier”. The project is implemented by the Consortium Eptisa SEE-Eptisa-Temelsu–PointPro, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy.

The purpose of this project is to contribute for increasing the competitiveness of the agriculture sector, to sustain farm incomes and mitigation of adverse effects of climate change in agriculture by promoting small-scale, low-cost, environment-friendly irrigation schemes. The overall objective of the project is to contribute for sustainable and inclusive economic, social and territorial development of the country and reducing regional disparities through the development of physical capital in rural areas. In the first project’s component the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy will assist in assuring sustainability of the future investments by a process of identification and development of technical designs for small irrigation schemes. The second project’s component will support the ongoing water management reforms towards involvement of water users in management of irrigation schemes through capacity building activities, preparation of legislative proposals, procedures and guidelines, with an emphasis on preparation of methodology for calculation of the water tariffs.

The project, funded by and implemented under the Delegation of the European Union, has a value of 1,6 million EUR and is with expected duration of 2 years and 4 months.

In forthcoming years, Eptisa, through its branch office in Skopje (Macedonia), will ensure successful and smooth delivery of project’s objective and results. Having managed more than 10 projects in Macedonia so far, Eptisa’s staff in Skopje office is looking forward to new achievements in the agriculture environment and embedding new projects assets for the Company.
