Project Description:
This feasibility study project of the Railway Connection Scheme between Fortaleza and Mucuripe, Ceara State, in Brazil, included the following activities:
First Phase:
- Socioeconomic characterisation of the study area;
- Analysis of mobility;
- Study of the transport system;
- Land use.
Second Phase:
- Study of transport demand, including the implementation of traffic surveys, preferences revealed and declared in the various modes of transport in the area;
- Definition of technological alternatives;
- Programme of exploitation;
- Analysis of economic, social and financial profitability.
Third Phase:
- Preliminary topographic and cadastral studies;
- Preliminary geological and geotechnical studies;
- Preliminary studies of track right of way;
- Preliminary environmental studies;
- Baseline of the railway line Fortaleza-Mucuripe.
