Project Description:
The M50 PPP Contract comprise the design, construction, operation, maintenance and financing of the upgrade of 24 km of the M50 motorway between the existing M1 and N3 junctions and between south of the Ballymount interchange and the Sandyford Interchange. In particular the upgrade consist of:
- The expansion of existing two lane carriage-way forming part of the M50 motorway to three lane standard;
- The provision of auxiliary lanes between the M1 and N3 intercharges and between south of the Ballymount intercharge and the Scholarstown intercharge;
- The major upgrade of the junctions at the M1, N2 and N3 intercharges; and
- Upgrade works to the intercharges at Ballymun, the N81, Scholarstown and Sandyford.
The Contract includes:
- The operation and maintenance of 7 km of the M50 motorway between the N4 and N7 junctions;
- The operation and maintenance of 1,3 km of the M50 motorway between the N3 and N4 junctions and adjacent to the WestLink toll plaza;
- The operation and maintenance of the M50 motorway that currentry incorporates the WestLink toll plaza and the Liffey Valley Bridges; and
- Cyclical maintenance of 11 km of the M50 motorway between the Sandyford junction and the N11.
Activities carried out by Eptisa:
- Project management of the design;
- Pavement Conceptual Design for the whole scheme including preparation of Pavement maintenance and monitoring Program;
- Conceptual Design of Structures and Earthworks of the sections;
- Site Supervision of the section;
- Defining needed Quality Assurance Systems;
- Safety management, site organisation and control;
- Preliminary health and safety plan;
- Outline traffic management plan;
- Construction Certification;
- Overall project and resource management and backstopping
