A Consortium composed by EPTISA and EPEM (Environmental Planning, Engineering and Management) S.A. has recently been awarded a 975,000 Euro contract for the preparation of project studies (FSs, EIAs, CBAs), design and tender documentation for establishing an integrated and financially self-sustainable waste management system in East and Northeast Region.
The overall objective of the project of which this contract will be a part is to achieve an integrated and financially self-sustainable waste management system in East and Northeast Region. In order to achieve this goal, the focus will be on preparation of necessary project studies and technical and tender documentation for construction of the selected waste treatment and disposal facilities including preparation of Feasibility Studies (FSs), Cost-Benefit Analyses (CBAs), Environment Impact Assessments (EIAs), Detail Designs and assistance with preparation of Volume 3, 4 and 5 of the Tender dossiers for works contracts for construction of selected waste treatment and disposal facilities for both East and Northeast Regions.
The expected results of the Project are:
Result Nº 1: Prepared and approved Feasibility studies, Environmental Impact Assessment Studies and Cost-benefit Analyses for establishing of an Integrated and Financially Self-sustainable Waste Management System for both East and Northeast regions;
Result Nº 2: Prepared and approved IPA Application, Detail designs and Volume 3, 4 and 5 of the tender dossiers for the works contracts for construction of selected waste treatment and disposal facilities for both East and Northeast regions.
This assignment will include the following activities:
- Preparation of Feasibility Studies for establishing of an Integrated and Financially Self-sustainable Waste Management System for both East and Northeast regions;
- Preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Studies on the basis of Feasibility Studies for both East and Northeast regions;
- Preparation of Cost-Benefit Analyses (CBAs) for establishing of an Integrated and Financially Self-sustainable Waste Management System for both East and Northeast regions;
- Preparation of detail designs and cost estimations for each of the selected waste treatment and disposal facilities for both East and Northeast regions;
- Assistance with the preparation of Volume 3, Volume 4 and Volume 5 of the tender dossiers for the works contracts for construction of the selected waste treatment and disposal facilities for both East and Northeast regions according to the Practical Guide to contract procedures for EU external actions and relevant FIDIC contract conditions.
For the next fifteen months, a strategically composed team of local and international engineers will be responsible for implementing this project.
