The new facility will have a capacity of 80,000 P.E. and will serve the population of the Croatian municipality of Slavonski Brod.
A consortium led by EPTISA has recently been awarded a new contract in Croatia. The project has a value of 1.5 million Euro and will be financed by the Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA Program) from the European Union.
The main objective of the assignment will be to improve the water supply and sewerage infrastructure and the treatment of wastewater in the area of Slavonski Brod, contributing to the overall protection of water resources in this municipality, the seventh largest in the country.
In Croatia, it is estimated that only 76% of the population has access to the public water supply system and that no more than 40% is connected to a public sewerage network. This new IPA intervention is an important step towards improving the environmental infrastructure in Croatia by providing the population of Slavonski Brod with access to these basic public services.
In cooperation with a local company, a team of engineers from EPTISA’s Regional Office for SEE will supervise the construction works for the water supply and sewerage systems and for a new wastewater treatment plant.
The project will last for about 4 years and will consist of two main activities:
- Supervision services during the “Construction of the Water Supply and Sewerage System”, which includes the construction or reconstruction of 9 km of trunk mains, 50 network nodes and one service reservoir; and
- Supervision services during the “Construction of Slavonski Brod Wastewater Treatment Plant”, with a capacity of 80,000 P.E.
