Project Description:
The project included construction of a water distribution pipeline in order to guarantee water supply in La Mancha plain. Water used originates from Tajo-Segura aqueduct and provides water for domestic use to a population of 500,000 inhabitants. Long-term benefits of the project include regeneration of underground aquifers because of lower water detraction.
Activities performed within the project included:
- Revision and analysis of demands and the needed supply;
- Feasibility study for potable water treatment station;
- Previous geological-geotechnical study;
- Topographical work and redesigning;
- Study for solutions in the water supply;
- Environmental impact assessment;
- General planning of infrastructures;
- Exploitation and control study;
- Hydraulic system modelling.
